Monk & Bear is a rentee-to-rentee way to find your next rental home—list your current rental home, discover fellow-rentee homes, and visit them directly, broker-free.

Yes. Having an active listing “joins” you with fellow rentees. Without a listing, search and addresses are paused. You can list with Visiting-Off (private address) or Visiting-On (ready for visits).

Join rentees by listing your current rental home. Choose Visiting-Off or Visiting-On. Once listed, you can browse fellow-rentee homes. When you switch to Visiting-On, you’ll see exact addresses and available visit times for homes whose rentees are also on Visiting-On — and you can plan visits.

Visiting-Off: Browse all rentee-listed homes while keeping your address private. No visits — no exact addresses or visit slots are shown. Visiting-On: See exact addresses and available visit times for homes whose hosts are also on Visiting-On, and go for visits. You can also set your own visit slots for others to visit your place.

When you switch to Visiting-On. For homes you select, you’ll see the exact address and available visit times as long as the rentee of that house is also on Visiting-On.

Check daily—new homes appear and the good ones go fast. Shortlist 3–5, book the earliest slots, keep each visit 2–4 minutes, and use a quick checklist so you can compare quickly.

As soon as you switch to Visiting-On, you can book the next available slot on matching homes whose hosts are on Visiting-On. It might be same-day or later depending on host schedules. If nothing matching is live yet, check daily—new homes appear often—shortlist 3–5 and book early when slots open.

Here’s the usual flow most rentees follow:

Day 1–20 — Explore at your pace

Day 10–25 — Start visiting shortlisted homes
Quick 2–4 min “silent” visits with ID; use a simple checklist to guide what to check during visits.

Day 15–30 — Book your next home
If you like a place, ask Monk & Bear to negotiate rent & deposit.

Timelines vary by match availability, but most rentees wrap up in 2–4 weeks when they check early and book promptly.

There are no calls or messages between rentees. That keeps your number private, stops spam, and makes everything simpler.

A “silent visit” is a quick 2–4 minute viewing at a fixed time, without talking to the host rentee. At the door, show your ID, step in, check the house, and you’re done. If you want the place, go to your “Negotiate & Grab Deal” page and ask Monk & Bear to negotiate. No phone calls, no long chats, no back-and-forth.
